Founded by Janine McGrath in 2004, the Brisbane City Youth Ballet (BCYB) is closely associated with CCA.

BCYB provides aspiring dancers with professional performance opportunities and company coaching up to a pre-professional level.

Performing twice a year to sold out audiences, each season sees full-length, traditional story ballets come to life with astonishing sets and costumes in theatres such as the Brisbane Powerhouse, Griffith University’s Conservatorium Theatre in South Bank, and the Home of the Arts (HOTA) on the Gold Coast.

The youth company has a strong emphasis on implementing the importance of clean classical technique balanced with musicality and artistry. BCYB fosters the love of classical ballet through the thrill of live performance, and nurtures friendships that last a lifetime.
